Light and seasons
When to come
In Copenhagen, it is the light that changes first. It decides how long your days are.

The periods that matter
- Christmas at Tivoli: 13 November 2026 to 3 January 2027.
- Next Tivoli season: 30 March to 26 September 2027.
- Reffen: closed in winter, reopening announced for March 2027.
- Church of Our Saviour tower: closed for the whole of January.
- Late December: many sites close on 24 and 25 December and reduce their hours on the 31st.
How to choose
In summer, the very long days leave time to do everything: café terraces, harbour baths and late walks. In winter, expect less light and more indoor visits, with the atmosphere of the markets and illuminated evenings. Whatever the season, bring a waterproof layer: the weather changes quickly by the sea.
